Wholesome Sweet Potato & Black Glutinous Rice Bun by Toast Box

This bun's ingredients sounded so interesting that I just had to try it. It's a sweet potato & glutinous rice bun, also from Toast Box @ Shaw Centre, Singapore.

Doesn't it look so healthy too? I love how it is coated with sesame, pumpkin and sunflower seeds! I love seeds as they tend to be very nutritious.
The variety of seeds coating the bun makes it look so wholesome!
The glutinous rice used in the filling is the black (or actually purple) variety known locally as pulut hitam, often used as the main ingredient of a dessert porridge. For that reason, I'd classify this snack as a Southeast Asian-styled one.

Pulut hitam is that dark purple filling that's thickest in the middle. Ithas a very smooth texture and a fragrant, but mild flavour. So it made this bun a very refined and subtly flavoured treat.
The filling was simple and seemed naturally and subtly flavoured!
The sweet potato came in cubes. There's one peeping out of the bun in the bottom right most corner of the filling... looks a bit dark due to being coated in some pulut hitam.

Overall, I loved how natural and wholesome this bun was, using lots of interesting and nutritious grains.
