Tried these other interesting cookies from Old Seng Choong. They also seem sold out, but you can check out their other cookies here. These are the Cereal Prawn Cookies and Bak Kut Teh Cookies. These dishes are signature to the region (Singapore and Malaysia), and Old Seng Choong did a wonderful job of replicating their spice mixes and taste in these savoury cookies. It's a much more unique choice of souvenir compared to the Bengawan Solo ones for example, which always have long lines at theirr 4 Changi Airport stores.
The Old Seng Choon tins were really pretty and reminiscent of the typical Peranakan artwork and containers, so these are great as gifts, especially if you have international visitors or friends.. That said, I wish they had more sustainable, lightweight packaging for customers who want to purchase these cookies for their own consumption.
A great souvenir for international visitors who want a taste of the dish that they can bring home, and for locals, a great snack when you're feeling peckish and craving something hearty and savoury without wanting the trouble of purchasing a full cereal prawn or bak kut teh dish!
