An interesting drink I had while on a trip to Kyoto... it's the drink I'm pointing at on the menu.
The Japanese reads "hot genmai milk". So this "brown rice flour" is the same as the "genmai" that you have in genmai-cha. It's basically toasted brown rice, a little like rice pops. So they put that powder into the milk with some sugar.
It was a very nice combination indeed... sweet milk with the earthy toasty taste of brown rice. But this one was just a little too sweet.
Wonder where I can get the powder to make it on my own...
