More treats from La Patis @ Siam Paragon, Bangkok... this time it's a rusk of theirs - my first time trying any rusk they have.
I thought it was a good idea to use a flavoured bread, instead of adding a sauce like these soft bread rusks from Japan.
Naturally, the matcha flavour here was more subtle, but the benefit was that it permeated the entire rusk. And in this case, they used a lot of matcha, so I could actually smell the matcha fragrance in the bread.
The matcha bitterness was drowned in the natural sweetness of the bread and the granular sugar which they used, though.
Also, compared to Gateau Festa Harada, they used less butter, so the buttery flavour was not very strong at all. I thought that was fine since they had the matcha taste to it. But I suppose that wouldn't work for the pieces which have less of the matcha swirls, and the swirls are quite varied as you can see in the picture.
Overall, the experience is probably not as impressive as Gateau Festa Harada which individually wraps their rusk. However, this came in a relatively big bag with quite a number of pieces, so they are probably better value.
