Planet Latte at Greybox Coffee

I so enjoyed the dirty coffees in the previous post, and Greybox Coffee had a 1-for-1 promo at the Great World City branch, so I ordered another 2 drinks: the Planet Latte and another drink to be featured in the next post in a few days.

The Planet Latte was a lavish experiential concept - pouring hot espresso over ice cube cold brew coffee immersed in milk with an added dash of condensed milk (the type of milk used in the more commonly known Spanish latte).

This is what it looked like after I poured the espresso over. The dimple in the ice is because I poured it over a single spot haha.

It was a very nice medley of light flavours. Lighter than the dirty coffee because the espresso coffee isn't concentrated at the top, and the cold brew is lighter in flavour. Also, the milk is also diluted by the ice, so it isn't as heavy. But it's somewhat sweeter. Nonetheless, it's an espresso plus the cold brew, so the flavor is still quite thick, between a dirty and a flat white, I would say.

Y'know the problem of iced lattes getting more diluted as you drink it due to the melting ice? This solves the problem totally. The coffee ice melting as you drink it means it doesn't get more diluted.

Furthermore, because the coffee ice is cold brew whereas the warm coffee is an espresso, the flavor profile shifts slightly towards the cold brew taste as you drink it.

Overall, I daresay this is a Michelin-guide-standard concept and experience, at a fraction of the cost. It was just around S$7.50++ without the promo... But it's not just a cup of coffee - take a look at the beautiful way in which it was served. And pouring the hot espresso shot over for yourself enhances the savouring of the experience. Definitely recommend to try this at any Greybox Coffee you may come across.
