Exotic Soy Milk II - Kiwi

I previously featured carrot apple soy milk... today, it's another interesting flavour in the same series - kiwi soy milk. I got this from Isetan @ Westgate, Singapore as well. The brand is "Fukuren".

Unlike the carrot soy milk, which also had apple juice, the only juice in this one was kiwi. The soy beans were from Kyushu, while the kiwi fruits were from Fukuoka.
Kiwi soy milk.
I didn't take a picture of the actual drink because it was just normal off-white colour. That's nice actually, because it means they absolutely didn't add any colouring to it! Although, it reduces the potential for this to be a Christmas-themed drink, which would probably require the drink itself to be green, besides the carton.

(Digression: I really regret not even taking a look at the carrot version... I just drank out of the carton, so I don't even know what colour the drink was.. given that carrot is such a strong orange, it should have had some colour. And well, an orange-coloured soy milk would have been a nice effect...)

This flavour was a disappointment compared to the carrot one. Well, maybe it's because I haven't actually tasted kiwi fruit juice itself, so I have no basis for reference. But this one totally tasted like an apple drink that was vaguely milky. I couldn't even taste much of the milkiness, much less any soy flavour. It was a rather 2-dimensional experience.

It was also rather sweet. I think the carrot soy milk was just as sweet, but at least there were all these other complementing flavours, so the sweetness was not overbearing. For this, however, it was just the apple-like flavour with the sweetness.

Finally, there was no special ingredient, unlike the carrot one which had honey. Well, there was a bit of salt, but I really couldn't tell through all the sugar and syrup, which came ahead of even the kiwi juice in the ingredients list.

So yeah, it's ok to give this a miss... go for the carrot one instead!
