I love Japanese souffle pancakes, so when I heard there was a chain from China selling similar souffle pancakes with interesting flavours, I wanted to try. Officially, their logo spells their name as MoeMoe'Soft, but online there's other spellings such as Moe Moe Soft.
The most interesting flavour to me was the Sakura Hokkaido Milk pancake, as sakura and Hokkaido milk sounded like a very interesting combination. Furthermore, it was very appealing visually, with the dried flower garnish sprinkled on, although from the colour it looks more like osmanthus than sakura. (I love edible flowers usually.) However, I was disappointed.
Sakura Cookie - an unexpected bright spot
First, there was a part that I was impressed by, which I didn't expect. It is the big pink flower decoration in the picture. I thought it was going to be some inedible super sweet chunk of sugar that was just dyed pink for aesthetics. However, it turned out to be a sakura-flavoured cookie!
The sakura cookie tasted like it had notes of sakura flowers and was accordingly savoury with a herby floral sakura fragrance. It's something I'd never tried in a cookie before, and most sakura flavoured snacks also just taste like cherry and don't usually have this nice balance of savoury and floral-herbal notes.
Moreover, the texture was actually quite decent, despite having been left to stand in the cold case for what must have been half a day. (See the image of the storage below.) The cookie was decently firm and even slight crunchy!
Disappointing pancake
The rest of it, ironically, was a huge letdown. First, the cream tasted like strawberry milk, with hardly any floral or cherry notes at all, let alone actual preserved sakura flower flavour. Even the milk flavour wasn't prominent (as you might have expected of Hokkaido milk). So it didn't live up to the "Hokkaido" part at all.
Furthermore, the cream's texture was a bit stiff and slightly greasy, like butter cream. Not fluffy cream like with Japanese brands such as Châteraisé or Beard Papa.
Finally, the final nail in the coffin is that pancake was not particularly soft, and even dried out in some parts. (Probably because of the cold case storage.) So it is struggling to even be a pancake, much less a souffle pancake.
Better alternative
If you're looking for amazing takeaway souffle pancakes, I highly recommend Belle Ville Pancake Cafe instead. Their dine-in pancakes are amazing, but even their takeaway pancakes with fruits and cream were so heavenly - the fluffy texture and cream were perfect, the fruits were fragrant, and it did not seem in the least bit dry despite being takeaway. It was because of them that I wanted to try MoeMoe in the first place.
They are originally from Japan (Japanese site here with overseas branch addresses in English transliteration) with branches in Singapore, Philippines, Brunei and Bengaluru. You can even order online in Singapore.
